Sick of being sick

Dress of the Week

Tegan didn't get to wear her outfit out this week because Mommy was sick, but I still got a picture. =)
It is kind of rough being sick when you are a mom. Mom's don't get sick days.
The kids still need their diapers changed and their meals made. The baby still needs to be rocked and fed. And then when we try to lie down for a minute they think that means they get to come jump on you. Which can be fun if your feeling well, but if you feel like throwing up, not so much. =P Luckily, the older kids understand that they need to be a little more patient and have been great helpers that last few days.

Playing in the mud

So after five days of being sick, I was starting do deal with it and decided I needed to keep moving. So I called the Dr. in the morning to set up an appointment. They said they wouldn't be able to fit me in till next week because of the long weekend. But the receptionist said she would talk to the Dr. and see if he wanted to fit me in anyway. So in the later afternoon I went to pick up some groceries and summer books for the boys. As soon as I got home I told the boys they could ride their bikes for a little bit while I unloaded stuff. Then I grabbed the phone and went outside to see this. Then I checked my messages to find out they could fit me in after all... in a little over half an hour. The doctors office is at least 10 minutes away and I didn't have anyone to watch the kids... and they were covered in mud. So I got on the phone found a sitter, took a picture =)(very important), threw the kids in the shower, got them dressed again, put all the kids in the car, and was off. I picked up one of the YW from the branch and brought her with me to my appointment. I got there just on time and then had to wait over an hour and half to see the doctor. Got to love doctor's offices.
One thing, I hardly ever have to wait at all for the kids doctor appointments.

Tegan's Dress of the Week

A normal moment at our house

Gordon is growing up. He graduated from nursery school this week. We missed Jamin's nursery school graduation because it was during a family reunion. I was excited to see what it was going to be like. Unfortunately Neil was sick and needed his Mommy. So I wasn't able to go, but Daddy and Grandma Anderson were able to go and take pictures for me. It sounded like it was a very special occasion for everyone. One of Gordon's preschool teachers was also Matthew's preschool teacher. I think that is kind of funny. Matthew said hi to her and she said she remembers him well. =)

Some things just aren't meant to be

So we really had our hearts set on this property in the little town of Bird's Hill. It was close to a school and a park and bike trails and a store and the pit. The only down side was it was kind of small and the kids would have to change schools. I really like the school here. We offered the highest we were willing to go for that property and decided if we didn't get it then it was not meant to be and it was not. Someone bid higher than us. We found out last night, and were talking about some other options. Then we remembered another lot that we liked. So we called the realtor and made an offer today. They accepted our offer, so as of August 1st we are the owners of a 2 acre lot on River road just a couple minutes away from our current home. A clear canvas to make our own and it has a great view. Here are some pictures.

Dress of the Week

Group hug!

Oak Hammock Marsh

Jamin's cub scout pack went to Oak Hammock Marsh this weekend. Matthew went with them. They had a good time canoeing and learning all about animals.

Family Fun Night

Jamin's school puts this on every year. It was super fun. Normally they have it outside, but it was raining this day so they had it at the community center.

"the Pit"

We found a property that we like. It is across the street from "the pit" in Bird's Hill. We are going to give an offer on the land and see what happens. We probably won't start building for a little while, but we really like the location.
