Boooo!!!... hoo

Another Halloween come and gone. This year was a little different than most. There is new legislation in Manitoba that makes it possible for optometrists to prescribe certain medications for problems with eyes. Matthew and his Dad had a course this weekend with a test at the end so that they can do this. They both said they thought it went well.
We decided since Halloween was on Sunday we wouldn't go out trick or treating this year. The kids were fine with it. We talked about it together long in advance. They did have a couple parties planned, though, plus Neil, Gordon and Jamin all had Halloween parties at school. Friday night all the kids were invited to a Halloween birthday party. Unfortunately, Tegan was sick so we couldn't go.=( There was a party at church on Saturday, so they were ok with waiting one more day. Saturday Tegan was still sick, so Matthew's mom took Gordon and Jamin to the party. Then Matthew took Neil when he got back from his course. They all said they had a really fun time and brought home plenty of candy.
Then today Tegan was still sick so Matthew's Mom took Gordon and Jamin to church, then we celebrated Matthew's Dad's birthday and handed out chocolate to those that knocked on our door. We didn't have as many people this year as normal. Our front lights were turned off to try and detour them, but some of our inside lights were on. I think we ended up having about 35 people come. We normally have about 60. I am glad we decided not to go out tonight. We had an enjoyable time together as a family. =)
Peter Pan and Captain Hook
They wore the same costumes they wore last year. I couldn't find Gordon's little sword or hat, so I made those for him.
Neil the dinosaur

This is what Tegan was going to wear for the Halloween party.
Gordon is jumping in this picture, that is why he looks blury. I let the kids wear their costumes when we went to the bank on Friday. Tegan wore this and Gordon and Neil wore their Peter Pan and Dinosaur costumes. I got a little smile out of her. =)

We had our first snow on Saturday! Isn't it pretty?
The first snow of the season is always exciting almost as much as the last. I am usually pretty sick of snow by April.

Music with Neil

Check out this cute video of Neil. He is such a sweetie pie. He likes me to sing with him before bed every night. These are some of his favorites.

Two kids are at school and two are in bed and I have tons to do, but I am making a post on my blog. =)
Craziness at our house
Things can be pretty crazy when everyone is home. Daddy likes to play with the kids and do silly things like put Tegan's pants on her head. =)
Jamin's boat
Jamin loves to make things and he wanted me to take a picture of him and a boat he made. He loves to make things and says he wants to be an engineer/inventor one day among other things.
Dress of the week
Neil always likes to hop in a picture. Try not to notice our messy counter. ;) That is what I should be sorting right now. Maybe I should go fix that along with the laundry...

Happy Thanksgiving! Getting ready for Halloween

Sunday we had our Thanksgiving dinner. It was a yummy meal and I ate way too much, but it's only once a year or twice if I decide to celebrate American Thanksgiving too.
The kids like dressing up. I was trying on their costumes see who fit in what and what they are going to be. Jamin wants to be Captain Hook again and Gordon want to be Peter Pan.
Max wants to be a bumble bee, but not for very long. Maybe one or two seconds.
Yes, our kitty puts up with a lot, but we love him.
Tegan tried on the penguin costume. Super cute, but I think she needs to be a princess or something. I'll see what I can find. =) It's always fun shopping for Tegan anyway. I love girl stuff.
Dresses of the Week =0)

Gordon dressed himself. He loves getting dressed up.

Running, Running, Running

I love running. I usually run two to three times a week on my treadmill. I would prefer to run outside, but most of the time it is just not possible. I started running in high school because I had a couple of friends that did it too and I just haven't stopped.
Now my Jamin has picked up the hobby, much sooner than I did. He was able to join his cross country team this year. He practices at lunch time and after school he tells me that it is one of his favorite parts of the day. I got to go watch him run today and he did a great job. Most people that know Jamin, though, knows that he is quite the talker. He was talking to everyone while he was racing. =) It was pretty entertaining to watch. I am interested to see how he improves next year.
