Kub Kar Rally

Jamin's Kub Kar. A red angry bird car, of course. Jamin designed it, a friend cut it out, and Jamin did the rest. I thought he did a pretty good job. It wasn't the fastest, but it looked cool.

This was Jamin's best race. After coming in 6th the first race, he made some adjustments to the wheels and came in second the next race.

Happy boy.

Too close Neil. The kids were antsy during the presentation. The 150 year old Baden Powell came and talked about his life. It was interesting, but not enough for a 2 and 4 year old who just wanted to chase each other and make lots of noise. Sooo we visited the primary room to listen.

They love pretending to give talks.

Gordon's new friend

February Dresses

Couldn't get her to hold still for this one.
I love this dress. So pretty.

Tegan's choice. I gave her options and this is what she finally agreed to. She is becoming a little more independent in her thinking about what she wants to wear as opposed to what I want her to wear.

Decisions

Who knew there were so many decision when building your own home?
I thought the hard part was done when we decided the layout of our floor plans.
Nope just the beginning. Windows, outside materials and colours, flooring, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and on and on and on. Everything takes forever and every time we make a choice it gets a little more expensive. Don't get me wrong, it is fun and exciting, but exhausting and takes forever! Through it all we are making great memories, though. Like the other day at the kitchen/bathroom store. We were picking out all of our fixtures and Neil helped himself to a display toilet. He peed before anyone could stop him. It wasn't funny at the moment, but it is hilarious now. I can't wait to talk about that at his wedding. =)
We have been taking Neil and Tegan to most of our appointments while Gordon and Jamin are at school, and for the most part they have been pretty good.
No, this isn't the throne that Neil relieved himself, this is one we chose for a couple of our bathrooms. It has the two button flush. Saves on water usage.

It is a big house, so lots of choices to be made on flooring.

Jamin's Angry Bird Birthday Party

Party Plan:
1. Golden Egg Hunt - Get the golden eggs back from those naughty pigs!
We had this in Tegan's room and Jamin hid the eggs all around her room. Most of them were in her giant doll house. They were each suppose to find one egg and move on to the next game. Unfortunately they were all gone before the last two party people showed up. Oops. Apparently, Jamin told a couple of his friends that there were extras.

2. Angry Birds live =)
The target - the goal was to knock over all the pigs.
The ammunition - everyone got a turn to shoot the three birds. Some used the sling shot and some found it too difficult, so they just threw them.
3. Pin the Bird on the Slingshot!
4. Hide Away From Bird(Hide and Seek Go Tag) or Stay Away From Bird(Marco Polo)
They voted for Stay Away From Bird. These were both probably a bad idea with not having the party outside. Even though we have a big space in the basement, I had our bouncer out which takes up a lot of space. And nine and ten year old boys are crazy!
5. Craft - Make your own bird

6. Food - pizza and chips and stuff

They were hungry boys. We had five large pizzas and they ate all but one piece. Pretty impressive, I think.
7. Presents
He got all kinds of cool stuff, but I thought this was the cutest picture of him.

8. Cake and ice-cream - cupcakes w/ angry bird toppers

9. Pig Piñata
The awesome pig piñata that Jamin and I made. I was totally proud of myself. Jamin made the crown and cut out the other stuff. He worked really hard on his party. =) He did the invitations, made the pigs for Angry Birds Live, and came up with most of the ideas for the party. My job was to implement those ideas. Luckily, I found lots of websites to help figure out how to do these things. (Found at bottom of page.)
Matthew held it while they hit it. Brave man. I used something fairly soft for the stick. It's a good thing too. Those boys had some power.

Goodbye piñata...

Hello candy and crazy boys!
10. Bouncer and whatever else they wanted until parents came to pick up kids.

It was a pretty crazy party, but I think the kids had lots of fun. I was ready for the parents to come at the end. =) Overall, a success.

Lol...

Another mom at church on Sunday came up to me and told me the funniest thing that had me randomly laughing throughout the day, so I thought I should document it.

In primary another child trying to get Neil's attention accidentally called him Gordon.
Neil defiantly said, "My name is not Gordon! It's Jamin! ...I mean Neil."

Branch Sleigh Ride

We go on a sleigh ride every year. This year was pretty fun. Jamin brought a friend. Gordon wasn't feeling great, so he laid on Grandma's lap most of the time. Neil was a crazy man and Tegan giggled a lot. Afterwards we met back at the chapel and ate some yummy chilly and hot chocolate. Good times.

January Dresses

'Mom, I'm on the phone!'

I had another outfit picked out for Tegan this day, but she wanted to wear this.

I loooove pigtails on my Tegan. And she loves her 'sparkle' shoes.
Happy to report Tegan is officially a 'big girl' that goes to the bathroom on the potty. No more diapers! Hurray! Well, till April, when baby brother is born.
