Dress of the Week

Thank you Aunt Kristi and Uncle Lance for the dress. Matthew went to California last weekend and visited my brother and his family while he was there. He brought back this pretty dress. It is a 24 month dress, but it fits Tegan already. I love girl clothes! Lance and Kristi are going to have a new baby boy in the fall. That will make 17 cousins for my kids. 6 girls and 11 boys. Hurray for family!
Raining
It was raining cats and dogs this weekend. It just kept coming. The kids enjoyed watching the storm. I thought it was such a cute moment with them all looking out the window. Lots of streets were flooded. Luckily we didn't have too much trouble, though.

Neil isn't always creating messes. I caught him on camera picking up his blocks. =)

I can't imagine why they call it the terrible twos...
Neil is loads of fun. I love his smiles and giggles and his constant energy. However, moments like this happen perhaps a little too frequent. Lately I have decided that it is best to take a picture and use it as blackmail when he starts dating. Or maybe just use it as a post on my blog. That way, the bigger the mess, the more excited I get. Things like this tend to happen when I feed Tegan. Here Neil is helping himself to some baby cereal. He mixed it and everything in the cup next to him. I think he got more on his clothes and on the counter than in his mouth, though.

The kids really love bubbles

We got our garden planted on Monday. I let Gordon and Jamin have full reign over the front flower bed. They picked out the flowers, decided where to put them, planted them with some help, and Jamin is in charge of watering them.
Jamin helping with the vegetable garden. We planted tomatoes, onions, broccoli, cucumbers, lettuce, carrots, leeks, zuccini, and some melons. Melons don't normally work here, but it has been warm, so we'll see what happens.Tegan helping garden by being cute and happy. =)

Dress of the Week

Tegan was sad in her dress but happy in her mess.

Starting young
Our poor piano gets so beaten up. All the kids like to play it, but some are a little too rough. Our piano tuner came this week. He said our piano was not very inspiring. He thought we should get a new one, but I said that it would get destroyed just like this one. It was better when we bought it. Some day we would like to get a beautiful grand piano, but first we would have to get a house that it would fit in. This will have to do for now.

A week of Dresses and Messes and ups and downs

Dress of the Week

Bubbles
The greatest place to make messes is outside. I don't know what it is about bubbles, but kids love em.
He did it again!
So one week after Neil had his incident with the fire place, we were having a potluck at church. Neil was having a jolly time, but getting sleepy and a little crazy. He fell off his chair and I was sitting right next to him. I reached out my hand to catch him and somehow he landed right on my ring and it ripped his injury open again. I was so mad at my ring. So I got to spend another few hours in the emergency room just to find out they couldn't really do anything except put a bandage on it because of the scare tissue. =P I do not like emergency rooms. Anyway, I guess he is going to just have a bigger scare on his face. Hopefully it doesn't heal too badly.
Everyone at the hospital thought Neil was really cute in his suit. One nurse asked if he dressed up to come to the hospital, jokingly.

Friday Gordon had a little music recital. He has only had two or maybe three classes, so you can tell we didn't know the song all that well, but I thought it was super cute.

I was feeling really grateful this week for my family and my hubby's family. There are a lot of people out there that have lots of difficulties and we are very blessed to both be from amazing families. So cheers to good friends and family and to God who watches over us.

Tegan's dresses

Neil giving Tegan a kiss.

Tegan's Easter dress

Just thought I would add this one in there. All my kids, except Jamin, fell asleep at Ryan's wedding. They missed the pictures.

These were one of my favorite pairs of shoes, right next to the black pediped shoes Kristi send me.

Jamin's baptism

I love having a girl now. It is so much fun dressing her and shopping for girl stuff. These are all pictures from this year in order. You can see how she has grown in the past few months.

Mother's day 2010

I need to do a better job posting on my blog. I am going to make a new resolution I think to write once a week. Lets see how long I can keep it up.
Well, yesterday was Mother's day. It was a good one. Matthew surprised me with breakfast in the morning. He wanted to finish before I woke up, but Tegan got up early, so I caught him making it. =) Jamin made me some cute flowers and coupons. I love those homemade gifts. They are the best. After church, I had a pretty relaxing afternoon with the kids. Then we went over to Matthew's parents for dinner. Matthew and his Dad were in charge of the meal. Matthew brought fruit and veggie trays and buns. Matthew's dad grilled some steaks and provided some cheesecake from Barneys. The missionaries came and it was a good time.
Soon after the missionaries were gone, Neil was playing with blocks, he stood up, I think he got upset about something, tripped over a block and then landed head first on the corner of the fireplace. Neil and I spent the rest of the evening at the emergency room.
He had a little gash right between his eyes. Luckily he did not need stiches. They used some special glue and surgical tape to close his wound. I did get to spend some quality time with Neil. I had to keep him occupied the whole time because he kept wanting to rub his injury. He really likes letters so we kept talking about all the letters he saw. One thing I thought was pretty funny. A nurse heard him all excited about all the letters he was seeing and said she thought he would make a good optometrist some day. Then I said well actually my husband is an optometrist, so maybe he would like to be like his dad.
